Aveleda Fonte Vinho Verde Rosé 2021

The Guedes family has owned Quinta da Aveleda since the 15th Century, and the family has practiced viticulture for 5 generations, dating back to the 1870s. Their 150HA estate includes 7HA of lush gardens, where majestic roaming peacocks strut their stuff. This deep peach hued rosé is a direct press of Azal Tinto, Touriga Nacional, and Espadeiro, avoiding skin contact as much as possible, and is fermented cool in stainless, where it remains on lees. Creamy and soft, this slight 11% rosé carries watermelon, sour cherry, red apple, strawberry yogurt to a shorter finish, bumped with a slight push of RS. I'd much rather a dryer, crisper version, to show what this aromatic grapes are capable of in this profound granitic soils.Tasted: 28 May 2022Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
