Oak Bay Vineyard Gamay Noir 2020
East Kelowna Slopes, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaSt. Hubertus has a long history, with gamay first planted in 1964 with followups plantings in 1990 and 1999, at 350-440 metres, over clay, sand, and gravels. It is fermented in a blend of stainless steel, French, and American oak. This is a darker, wood-framed gamay, with black cherry, dark florals, thorny blackberry, and ample pink peppercorn spice, with finely grippy tannins framing the medium bodied frame. There's a lot packed into this well priced wine, one to pour alongside grilled ribs or vegetarian shepherd's pie.Tasted: 28 April 2022Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:BC | $18.50 | 750ml | winery online/direct, select private retailers |
