Kopke 50 Years Old White Port NV

Douro Valley, Northern Portugal, PortugalWhen a white port is aged in wood for 50 years, it looks very much like a tawny port, pouring a medium amber into the glass. However, this has none of the red fruits of Tawny, instead just concentrated and haunting memories of white grapes. Alluring and potent molasses, marmalade, orange oil, burnished golden raisins, roasted Marcona almonds flood the heady pour, with a highly spirited fire on the silken, salt slicked finish. Lovely layers of complexity here, far beyond what most folks would consider white port to achieve.Tasted: 22 April 2022Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
