Pere Ventura Clos Amador Brut Delicat Reserva Cava NV
Penedès, Catalunya (Catalonia Cataluña), SpainThis makes for an interesting contrast to the Pere Ventura Reserva Brut Primer, which is more aromatic and extroverted. The Clos Amador Brut Delicat is, well, more restrained, just like the name would suggest. But I like the character of the fruit: developed and rounded, showing lemon confit, green apple, dried white blossoms, and backed by savoury toasted nuts and hay. There's a lot here for the price, and I imagine few sparkling wines can compete with this in terms of value. A poised mousse, very good fruit concentration, and a chalky, layered finish. Impressive, to say the least. This Reserva is aged a minimum of 18 months on lees and is a traditional blend of Cava varieties.Tasted: 16 November 2025Tasted by: Prices:

The nose and palate are an ethereal mix of citrus, lime rind, and dried fruits. Pere Ventura created the Clos Amador facility in Sant Sadurní d'Anoia, just outside of Barcelona, in 1992.
