Bosman Family Vineyards Optenhorst Chenin Blanc 2019
Wellington, Paarl, Coastal Region, South AfricaThe Optenhurst vineyard in Wellington is the third oldest block of Chenin Blanc in South Africa, planted in 1952. The Bosman family are inherently pioneering, with the first generation of the Bosman family settled on the farm in 1798. Pouring a deeper lemon hue, this was whole bunch pressed, and native barrel fermented and matured in French 228 litre casks. It then rested for 6 months in a mix of concrete and oak with bâtonnage. Creamy and plumped, with evident wood seasoning the expansive palate of white peach, ripe nectarine, baked red apple. If you are looking fora well handled richer style, look here.
