McLaren Vale, South Australia, AustraliaAll Gemtree estate vineyards are organically and biodynamically farmed. It is immediately noticeable in the fruit purity on the nose and palate. The Dragon's Blood comes with a dark red colour. The aromas are a pleasant mix of smoky black raspberry with a savoury, earthy undercurrent. The fruit and earth take on more spice and weight on the palate with just enough tannin to disperse over the next three years. It will be a winner for the backyard barbecue all summer, but will also repay a little cellar time.Tasted: 02 March 2022Tasted by: Prices:
McLaren Vale, South Australia, AustraliaOff their organic/biodynamic McLaren Vale vineyard, this shiraz was native fermented and aged in French barriques and puncheons for 12 months. There's an alluring ferrous underlay to this savoury red, bedding black cherry, black raspberry, smoked wood, and ample studs of sea salt. Tannins are ample and tuggy, holding this full bodied red to a lingering spiced finish. Acidity is bright throughout, enough to carry this through your grilled ribs and portobello mushrooms.Tasted: 17 March 2022Tasted by: Prices:
