El Enemigo Malbec 2018
Luján de Cuyo, Northern Region, Mendoza, ArgentinaMany things come together to shape El Enimigo, with 8 percent cabernet franc in the co-fermented mix. The alcohol is a pleasant 13.5 percent and comes off a calcium-rich Guallatary vineyard high up at Tupungato. Red fruited, dark plum malbec rich in minerality is the sweet spot for Mendoza. Savoury, floral, and mostly oak free after 15 months in old foudres, this is a clean expression of fruit and terroir. Thre is still some tannin to be dispersed, but it will only improve the overall impression of this well made red.Tasted: 23 March 2022Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:BC | $47.99 | 750ml | select private retailers |
