Chateau la Besage Grande Cuvée 2017

Bergerac, Sud-Ouest, FranceSince its creation in 2008, Couleurs d'Aquitaine, a group of 4 cooperative cellars, has become one of the most important cooperative cellars of the South West, combining 400 families and 4000 hectares under vine. From Bergerac's clay-limestone soils, this blends 70% merlot, 20% cabernet sauvignon, and 10% cabernet franc, each vinified separately and aged in oak barrels 9-12 months before blending. Fragrant black cherry, black plum is threaded with tobacco, grilled meats, ample scrubby herbs, ferrous gravels, and housed with grippy, somewhat ragged tannins that work to house the potency of fruit. The soils keep everything bright, and at a welcome moderate 13.5%. Smart choice for shepherd's pie / roasted root veg braises.Tasted: 17 March 2022Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
