Champagne Pehu Simonet Fins Lieux # 1 Blanc de Noir Extra Brut 2014
Champagne, FranceDavid Pehu is the 4th generation to lead this Verzenay estate, with 7.5 organically farmed hectares across Verzy, Verzenay, Mailly, Sillery and Le Mesnil-sur-Oger. They only produce Grand Cru wines. From the Les Perthois parcel in Verzenay, this pinot noir was fermented in barrique with no MLF before heading to bottle and 60 months on lees. It was disgorged in early 2021 with 1.5 g/L. Red apple, meringue, lemon pith floods the gently expansive palate, all held taut with a bright, chalky grip.
