Phantom Creek Estates Kobau Vineyard Syrah 2019

Osoyoos, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaKobau Vineyard is tucked underneath Kobau Mountain on the westside of Golden Mile Bench. Its southerly aspect tilts it to the gentle early morning sun, escaping the late afternoon sun that disappears over Kobau peak. The vineyard has a history of producing some outstanding syrah under the C.C. Jentsch label. The style is highly polished, the fruit glossy, rich, black and blue. The French oak adds an extra layer of sophistication, although, in a blind tasting, this would take you more to Barossa than the Rhone this year. Round and soft, the finish is a long peppery, creamy affair that should repay any amount of cellaring up to 15 years.Tasted: 19 February 2022Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
