Phantom Creek Estates Becker Vineyard Block 1A Small Lot Syrah 2018
Osoyoos, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThey mean it when they say Small Lot Series and limited production at Phantom Creek. This label comes off a 0.78-acre Block 1A syrah on Becker Vineyard, and only two barrels made it to bottle. Nevertheless, surprising freshness buoys the red and blue fruit mid-palate, dusted in classic Black Sage desert scrub sagebrush and tobacco. Some 21 months in French oak give it depth and texture, but it is generally a less glossy version of the Kobau Syrah that is a little more food-friendly.
