Miguel Torres Santa Digna Estelado Rosé 2018

Valle del Curicó, Region del Valle Central, ChileChile's indigenous, ancient and much-maligned país or mission grape is behind this sparkler that comes in pink, making it a fun selection for weddings. Pink roses, fragrant strawberries, bitter melon, and bone dry, this creamy bubble is the perfect wine to serve solo at the reception or with lighter foods at dinner. País was the first grape variety planted in Chile back in the 1550s. It is known as listán prieto in Spain. It was tagged the mission grape in New World colonies, while in Chile, it became known locally as país. Today it is estimated that there are some 15,000 hectares of país, second only to cabernet sauvignon in the country. The vines are concentrated in the dry interior and coastal areas of the Maule and Bio Bío regions, where they are a fantastic 8000 producers.Tasted: 24 February 2022Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
