Saumur, Loire, FranceThe Vatan family has been making wine in the Loire for more than 300 years, with fifth generation Philippe and his daughter Agathe Vatan currently in charge of their 17 hectares. This organic / biodynamically farmed chenin comes from vines 30+ years from 4 plots in deep clay and limestone. It was native fermented, and aged in a mix of vat and barrel for up to 1 year. Youthful and bright, with green apple, lemon, broken stone, white honey and a thin layer of lees, taut on the shining palate.
