Malivoire Small Lot Gamay 2020
Beamsville Bench, Niagara Peninsula, Ontario, CanadaMalivoire is one of Canada's top gamay specialists, with numerous expressions and releases each vintage. From grapes off their Malivoire Estate and Genova Vineyards, this gamay was 35% whole cluster / 65% destemmed, with fermentation in concrete tank, stainless, and oak barrel. Post-MLF, this was transferred to 70% neutral barrel, with the remainder in tank. The wine was blended 7 months later, in spring 2021. This fragrant, youthful gamay is bright and brisk with tight black cherry, forest berry, sapid branch, and fine white pepper.
