Malivoire Genova Gamay 2020
Niagara Peninsula, Ontario, CanadaMalivoire is one of Canada's top gamay specialists, with numerous expressions and releases each vintage. From Vinemount Ridge's gravelly loam soils, this gamay was 2/3 destemmed and fermented in a concrete tank, with 1/3 whole cluster fruit layered in. Post ferment, this aged in neutral French barrels for 6 months. This elegant wine streams silken black cherry, perfumed plum, cracked pepper, branch along a gently expansive palate, with fine, long tannins framing through the peppery finish. Acidity is tight and bright throughout.
