Leaning Post Gamay - The Natural 2019
Twenty Mile Bench, Niagara Peninsula, Ontario, CanadaFrom Wismer - Armbrust Vineyard on the Twenty Mile Bench, this was native fermented in concrete, with nearly 4 weeks on skins before racking into clay amphora and neutral oak barrels for 10 months' rest. It went back into tank for 1 month of tightening before being bottled, with no additions or deletions throughout. Very earthy and branchy, with green tipped fruit amongst wild cherry, wild raspberry, light smoke. Tannins are long and lightly sticky, and acidity is tart, leading this medium bodied wine to a warming, yet saline finish.
