Guigal Côtes du Rhône 2018

Côtes du Rhône, Rhone Valley, FranceCôtes du Rhône can be many things, but at Guigal, it's a money-maker based on its reliability and attention to detail. The blend is a 50/40/10 Syrah/Grenache/Mourvèdre blend using 35+-year-old vines. They ultimately select one out of every hundred lots they taste, producing 4.5 million bottles a year. The result in 2018 is a typically dry, floral, aromatic nose and cherry and pepper flavours with black olives and a hint of syrah meatiness — a perfect match for lamb or pork dishes or winter vegetables.Tasted: 26 January 2022Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
