Château les Fougères Revelations d'Hubert de Boüard 2016

Saint Émilion, Libourne, Bordeaux, FranceThe Révélations d'Hubert de Boüard collection is based on an exclusive partnership between negociant Yvon Mau and Hubert de Boüard (co-owner of Château Angelus, in Saint-Émilion). The Fougères vineyard is just below the commune of Saint-Emilion, on the sandy, clay-limestone alluvial plain bordering the Dordogne. From 40 year old vines, this merlot was fermented and rested briefly in stainless. Clipped cassis, black plum, ground coffee is filtered with a toasty charcoal lens, and framed with gritty / sticky tannins to a short, warming and drying finish. Very basic Bordeaux.Tasted: 17 January 2022Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
