Cave Spring Gamay 2019

Beamsville Bench, Niagara Peninsula, Ontario, CanadaThis gamay comes from their Cave Spring Vineyard, on a limestone-clay sloping terrace overlooking Lake Ontario. After a month long maceration and native ferment, this aged 10 months in a mix of neutral 225L and 500L French, Hungarian, and American oak barrels. This lighter red is a spice box, with ample toasty baking spices infiltrating plum, cherry, tea, and tobacco. Tannins are long and fine, hugging the silken palate through the lingering finish.
