Bossanova Montepulciano d'Abruzzo 2020

Abruzzo, ItalyBossanova is a biodynamic, natural project started between 2 friends in 2018. They're in Abruzzo, bordering Marche, next to the hill of Piceno, on the Adriatic coast. Their vines were planted in 1970. This was 70% skin fermented, 20% foot-trodden, 10% cerasuolo. Native fermented in concrete over 10 days, before resting there 8 months. This opens with a swing of reduction that persists through the slight, downy / sticky palate, with scrubby thorns, black cherry, and soft spice. Tannins stick around the sides through the warming, balsamic-laced finish. Needs a brisk chill and a hearty bowl to accompany.Tasted: 13 January 2022Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
