Plot Wines Neighbour 2018
Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaPlot Wines is a new friendly and funky wine collab based out of Kaleden. Their name refers to the partners' (Kevin Rossion and Adam Kereliuk) practice of sourcing grapes from different plots of land across the Okanagan Valley, making an ever changing roster of minimal intervention wines. Neighbour blends Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Tempranillo from 5 different southern Okanagan sites. Each was native fermented separately and rested for 18 months in a mix of Hungarian and French barrels before the final blend. Alluring dark florals pervade this suave blend, scenting cassis, black cherry, wild plum across a full, yet fresh, palate. Tannins are well integrated into the fruit, drawing this to a lightly peppered finish. There's a lovely balance to this interesting blend, drinking smartly now (no smoke taint here), but with time ahead. A great first introduction to Plot Wines, and one to watch.Tasted: 21 December 2021Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:BC | $35.00 | 750ml | winery direct |
