Ocone Diomede 2016
Campania, ItalyThis Aglianico comes off vines 300-400m in the hilly Taburno subzone, near the municipality of Ponte, and the regions calcareous / alluvial soils. Post ferment, this heads to tonneaux for one year, before a stint in stainless for tightening. This spends 2 years in bottles before release. The wood is amply evident from first whiff, with smoked herbal notes overriding the ripe, dense, tobacco clad and kirsch-drenched fruit. Tannins are ample, and sticky soft with time. There's a light hum on the finish, but the heft and weight of this wine overrides place.Tasted: 01 December 2021Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:ON | $33.95 | 750ml | consignment |
