Gérard Bertrand Cote des Roses Pinot Noir 2019

Languedoc, Sud de France, FranceFrom grapes around Languedoc, this memorably packaged pinot noir (check the rose imprint on the bottom of the bottle) was destemmed, macerated and fermented in stainless over 2 weeks, before maturing in stainless and 225L barrels for a few months prior to bottling. Juicy cherry, plum, tayberry are plump with the Mediterranean sunshine, before quickly tapering off at the astringent finish, along with a dash of spice and some bitter coffee notes. Tannins are smooth, as is the shorter palate. This is a pinot to crack into now (with the fancy vino loc closure) along with a hearty veg/bean stew.Tasted: 13 November 2021Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
