Elios Katamacerato 2019
Sicily, ItalyNative Sicilians and friends Guido and Nicola joined forces in 2015, leaving their consulting jobs to create Elios, focusing on naturally made, terroir-true wines from their family farms' vineyards that were previously sold off as cheap bulk fruit. This organic catarratto grows in Alcamo's black clay soils, at 200m. It was native fermented in stainless, with 7 days' skin contact before aging 8 months. This pours a burnished golden hue, with ample skin tannins gripping the palate, holding in wild orange, grapefruit, scrubby dried rosemary and wild mint.
