Beck-Hartweg Granit 2018
Alsace, FranceBeck-Hartweg is one of the historic domaines of Alsace, tracing their lineage back to the early 16th century. They’re located in the medieval town of Dambach-la-Ville, built upon pink granite bedrock. Florian and Mathilde are the 16th generation at the domaine and despite their young age (early 30s) they've already gained a solid reputation as a skilled and progressive representative of natural Alsace. They are certified organic, and practicing biodynamic. Riesling, Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir come off the estate's granitic, sandy, stony soils, picked together and cofermented whole cluster, with native ferment and 10 months' rest in older cask. it was bottled without filtration or sulphur. Pouring a peachy amber hue, this medium bodied orange wine teems with mandarin, chamomile, bitter melon, wild lemon along the slender, lifted palate. This natural wine finishes with an saline and sour citrus wash. Refreshing and characterful.Tasted: 25 September 2021Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:BC | $44.00 | 750ml | private wine shops |
