California, United StatesI like that the Ryder Estate estate is certified by the California Sustainable Winegrowing Alliance (CSWA). I was also surprised by its freshness and weight. Yes, weight it is a touch Tavel-like in the mouth, although fruiter and fresher in style. Look for a pale pink colour with peaches, citrus blossoms, and dark cherries at the finish. It's honeyed but not sweet and further tempered by a pink grapefruit finish that washes it away. Impressive from California, especially under $20.
