Naramata Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe Da Silva family have been farming the Okanagan Valley since they arrived in the 1950s. The Fume Blanc is wood-aged for eight weeks, adding weight and a richer structure to the Hidden Hollow Vineyard fruit grown on the Naramata Bench. The fruit remains fresh, the oak notwithstanding, with bits of green apple, pear, nectarine and gooseberry fruit. A fine accompaniment to grilled fish or chicken.Tasted: 18 August 2021Tasted by: Prices:

Naramata Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe Da Silva family fave been farming the Okanagan Valley since they arrived in the 1950s, continuing the work of their ancestors who have been involved in farming and winemaking on Portugal's Azores Islands since the 1700s. From Hidden Hollow Vineyard on the Naramata Bench, this was stainless fermented before heading to new American medium+ toasted oak for 8 weeks, on lees. The wood is certainly evident, overriding the crunchy green-edged orchard fruit at this youthful stage. Fresh green apple, green pear, gooseberry are almost holding their own, and will have a better chance when the oak tames down some in 6-12 months. Quite structural and worthy of partnering with protein-laden dishes.Tasted: 21 August 2021Tasted by: Prices:
