Spy Valley Sauvignon Blanc 2020

Marlborough, South Island, New ZealandSpy Valley is a family owned 400 acre winery that sits on the sunny southern side of Marlborough’s Wairau Valley. The fruit is picked early in the morning and processed in small batches, fermented in mostly stainless steel (along with several blocks designated to be fermented in barrel) before they are all blended. The 2020 COVID harvest will not be forgotten. The spring was warm with no frost and aboveaverage rainfall that led to early flowering. There was little significant rainfall after that and thorough harvest but along with moderate temperatures, it balanced off the effects of the drought. In the end, the wine looks more like a warm year than a cool one. Look for a riper, more generous style with intense passionfruit, nectarine and mineral notes that run through the wine. A Kiwi sauvignon with a touch of warmth that unleashes many flavours. Stock up.Tasted: 14 July 2021Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
