Poppyshake Roussanne and Chardonnay 2020
Naramata Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaPoppyshake is the personal project of Kathleen Sinclair, a natural wine and cider maker based in Naramata, working with Bella Wines these past few years. This orange blend of 63% roussanne and 37% chardonnay saw the former spend 11 days on skins before being basket pressed and blended with the chardonnay for a natural coferment, followed by 6 months ageing on lees. Pouring a hazy orange hue, this streams along the slender, bright palate with tangerine, bergamot slick, scented with wild sage, and finishing with a wash of sea salts.
