Joseph Drouhin Beaune Clos des Mouches 1er Cru 2018

Beaune, Côte de Beaune, Côte d'Or, Burgundy, FranceBeaune Clos des Mouches Rouge is all about charm and sophistication and the 2018 has it in spades. The fruit, mostly dark cherries and black plums, with a touch of violet, floods the nose and the palate, gaining weight and an expansive texture on the mid-palate. The tannins are rich and dense but pinot soft and frankly a little New World, at least where it meets the Old World. It's slightly richer than normal, but it will only endear the New World drinkers who will embrace the harmony of the wine. That said, this should age effortlessly into the 2030s and beyond.Tasted: 24 July 2021Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
