Haywire Pinot Noir 2019
Oliver, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThis makes for an interesting contrast to the Secrest Mountain Vineyard Pinot. It's lighter, leaner, and more red-fruited, with crunchy cranberry and wild raspberry, rhubarb, and sweet spices. There's a nice balance of fruit and savoury complexity, bolstered by winemaker Matt Dumayne's use of concrete, 600L puncheons, and amphora. The tannins are negligible and the acidity tart, giving this a glou-glou quality. But it'll really be at its best alongside charcuterie and a generous serving of paté. Bottled unfiltered.Tasted: 06 June 2021Tasted by: Prices:BC | $26.90 | 750ml | winery online, grocery, VQA and select private retailers |
