Sperling Vineyards Amber Pinot Gris Organic 2020
Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThis singular orange pinot gris comes off Ann Sperling's certified organic/biodynamic vineyard in East Kelowna, belonging to her family since 1925. Pouring a very cloudy dark peach hue, this was a whole bunch, native fermented to dryness and pressed after setting. This went to bottle sans fining, filtration, or sulphuring. This is the pure essence of the grape, if you will, stripped down to the bones, and allowed to fill itself in. Grippy apricot, peach pit, fragrant white peach, bitter kumquat fill the textural frame, stencilled by the time on skins, and rinsed with bergamot tea and VA on the finish.
