Orofino Vineyards Cabernet Franc Rosè 2020
Cawston, Similkameen Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThis peach-hued rosé of cabernet franc comes from one small block on Similkameen's sloping Pozza Vineyard, a cooler, higher altitude site in the valley's Olalla Gap. This purpose grown rosé was destemmed and lightly crushed, with a short time on skins prior to pressing off and fermenting at cool temperatures until dry. Wild raspberry, cherry blossoms, tangerine peel waft over the strawberry yogurt and savoury broken stones bedding the slight (12%) palate, dusted with stony spices which linger on the finish.
