Montalto Pennon Hill Pinot Noir 2020
Mornington Peninsula, Victoria, AustraliaFrom the cool Mornington Peninsula, this pinot was destemmed and macerated cool for 3-5 days before native ferment and partial whole bunch fermentation. The wine was aged in French barriques and puncheons (26% new) for 9 months. Pouring a pale crimson hue, this opens with fragrant raspberries, wild cherries, juicy plum on a light, lifted palate. There's a pretty peony florality throughout and fine long-grain tannins that guide this to a lightly spiced finish. Acidity is lofted, and drinkability, especially now, for this youthful red is high.Tasted: 24 June 2021Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:ON | $34.95 | 750ml | consignment |
