Irvine & Roberts Pinot Noir 2018
Willamette Valley, Oregon, United StatesThis pinot noir comes from the southern end of the Rogue Valley, and its sandy loams at 640m altitude. A mix of Wädenswil, 4407, 777, Pommard, and 115, this was destemmed and fermented in tanks, block by block, before aging in French oak (32% new) for 16 months prior to the final blending and bottling. Damp forest, black cherries, red currant rule the cushy palate, harnessed by bitter edged, grippy tannins, to a bitter cherry, dark chocolate spiced finish.
