Baillie-Grohman Tête de Cuvée Brut 2018
Kootenay River Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThis traditional method sparkler blends equal parts pinot noir and chardonnay from their Creston estate vineyard, sitting around 650m. This spent 36 months on lees prior to disgorgement, with 36 g/L RS for an obvious off-dry style. Candied strawberries, red apple, cherry brioche rule the creamy palate, with a lovely riff of toast and ample cranberry acidity to offset the big bump of RS. I'd love to see this as a Brut (dryer) style in future, to up the seriousness. For now, a great start. 53 cases made.Tasted: 27 June 2021Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:BC | $41.00 | 750ml | winery direct |
