Veneto, ItalyThis Zago pink was a fun discovery and a newish release from a Prosecco company begun in the mid 19th century. The fruit is sustainably sourced glera with 15% pinot nero, fermented separately and blended for colour into the second ferment charmat tanks. It's refreshingly dry (Brut) and crammed full of summer berries, pomegranates, and lovely fresh acidity in the back end. Finally, a prosecco pink that will appeal to real wine drinkers who want a late afternoon bubble they can quaff before dinner.Tasted: 26 June 2021Tasted by: Prices:

Veneto, ItalyZago has been producing Prosecco since the mid 19th century, and this, a Rosé Prosecco, is one of the newer additions to the portfolio, with the appellation laws officially recognizing the category in spring 2020. This is a blend of sustainably sourced glera with 15% pinot nero, fermented separately, and then blended for second ferment in charmat tanks and 3 months' rest. This is refreshingly dry (Brut), with only 5 g/L dosage. Summer strawberries, wild raspberries, pomegranate is held bright with a crisp cranberry acidity, lifting the lighter frizzante palate to a snappy finish. Quite a smart Prosecco rosé, and enjoyable now. I wish so that more Prosecco would follow this drier lead.Tasted: 01 May 2021Tasted by: Prices:
