Viña Chocalán Gran Reserva Sauvignon Blanc 2019
Valle de San Antonio, Region de Aconcagua, ChileThis sauvignon blanc is sourced from Malvilla, in the cool San Antonio Valley, only 5km from the Pacific Ocean, and rooted in calcareous soils. This had 14 hours of skin contact, cold settling, and ferment in stainless where it remained on lees for 2 months. Tight and steely clinical with so much asparagus! Wow. I bet your pee smells after drinking this wine. Once you get through / past that, there is greengage, hedge, lemon rind on a reductive palate, finishing briefly. A lot of coastal freshness, to be sure, but there are a lot of potently reductive characters that do not make for the most easy, pleasurable drinking experience.Tasted: 20 May 2021Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:BC | $24.99 | 750ml | private wine stores |
