Vinho Verde, Northern Portugal, PortugalQuinta da Raza Avesso is a single variety avesso Vinho Verde, fermented in stainless steel, and it's given four months of lees contact before it is bottled and sent to market. It presents with a full palate of grassy/hay/citrus with more pear and a touch of almonds in the back end. It is reasonably complex, reflecting its site and granitic soils. Try this with steamed shellfish dishes or fresh asparagus recipes. Well-balanced at 13.5 percent and only 2.5 percent residual sugar. Not in Canada.Tasted: 12 June 2021Tasted by: Prices:

Vinho Verde, Northern Portugal, PortugalQuinta da Raza has been family owned and operated since 1769. From the interior Basto subregion, this Avesso was fermented cool in stainless, where it remained on lees for 4 months in a mix of 80% stainless and 20% oak barrels. The time in wood has given this avesso a lovely fine structure, framing the herbal peach, almonds, bosc pear on the medium palate, finishing with a snap. There's a bump of RS here, well situated to counter the bright acidity. Partner with steamed clams, or spring peas.Tasted: 01 May 2021Tasted by: Prices:
