Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaNiche is 57 cases. The Extra Mile comes of 23-year-old vines, and it is all clone 115. The fruit was handpicked in October and fermented in small, 1⁄2 ton lots after a 10-day cold soak. It ages 16 months in 25% new oak. The style is more concentrated, but there is less fruit here and more earthy rhubarb with a hint of bacon and a dry finish.
