Meyer Family Vineyards Pinot Noir Old Block McLean Creek Vineyard 2019

Okanagan Falls, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaFrom one of the original vineyard plantings at their Okanagan Falls estate McLean Creek Road Vineyard, this was planted in 1994 to an unknown clone. The fruit was destemmed and cold soaked before a native ferment and transfer to French barrels (30% new) for 11 months, before the wine was bottled unfined and unfiltered. The mix of wood and this special old block certainly yields more structure and presence than their estate McLean Creek Road Pinot Noir, with darker shaded plum, cherry, and blackcurrant at the fore, seconded and seasoned with raspberry blossoms and tight, fine baking spices. Tannins are grippy and well integrated, leaving a wash of black tea in their wake. Certainly drinking well now, but with time ahead in your cellar.Tasted: 19 May 2021Tasted by: Prices:
