Mayhem Rosé Can 2020
Naramata Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThis is a trendy new format for Mayhem's Rosé: a 250ml can. From siblings and wine industry veterans Terry Meyer Stone (Anarchist Mountain Vineyard) and JAK Meyer (Meyer Family Vineyards), Mayhem Rosé 2020, in the can, is a different wine than their 2020 regular bottle of Rosé. This is entirely merlot from Naramara's Middle Bench Road Vineyards. It was destemmed and crushed in stainless for ferment, where it remained on lees for 3 months. This pours a glowing peach hue and glides along a juicy, lighter, dry palate with wild strawberries, watermelon, and a tangerine snap on the finish. Refreshing and friendly and not dumbed down at all, this is a very smart choice for pockets all summer long, and the best local canned wine I've tried to date.
