Castilla-La Mancha, SpainYou don't see non-vintage Rioja every day, especially in a category that is traditionally known for its long maturation times. But it makes sense in this case: it's simply classic Rioja at a very reasonable price. It shows ripe, dark berry fruit, slightly baked in character, with integrated dill and sandalwood notes after ageing in American oak for eight months. Medium-bodied with fresh acidity, this is ready to drink, with just a slight firmness to the tannins.
