Intrigue Reserve Red 2018

Lake Country, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaIntrigue makes reserve wines only when the wine reflects the best expression of the fruit from that growing season. The fruit for this 2018 is all grown in Oliver, fermented in stainless steel and aged for 18 months in oak barrels. The blend is front-loaded with a powerful mix of 50/16 cabernet sauvignon and petit verdot with 12/8/5/malbec, syrah, and merlot additions. In the end, it is a bit like crossing a California cab with an Australian cabernet shiraz, leaving a muddled palate of spicy, rich black fruit with an okay finish. Unfortunately, it is disjointed at the moment, so the only real solution is time in the bottle. Give it three to seven more years.Tasted: 25 May 2021Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
