Giant Head Pinot Noir 2018

Summerland Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThis pinot appears to have escaped unharmed in a smoky year and is a nice upgrade from 2017. The style is intense, and on the rich side of pinot, more Californian than Euro. The tannins are silky, and its richer dark cherry and spice will have wide appeal for a certain market sector. It is all aged in neutral French oak for 10 months and bottle unfined and unfiltered. The fruit is a mix of purchased and estate fruit (a 40-year old German clone is on the home site). Cool nights are a big part of the Summerland ethos giving the necessary acidity to balance the wine. Ready to drink.Tasted: 21 May 2021Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
