Lisboa, Central and Southern Portugal, PortugalOne of the growing global, Niepoort-led NAT'Cool! wines, this castelão is from 2 vineyards and the clay and limestone soils of Lisboa. This was entirely whole cluster, all in stainless (their only that sees only stainless steel). Pale crimson in the glass, this charms with wild raspberry, wild cherry, plum, candle wax, with a rasp of pink peppercorn. Tannins are slight, and sticky, hugging this lighter red to a lingering finish. Lovely pure expression of the grape, and one suited to a light chill and a patio.
