ArgentinaIt’s no secret that the vast majority of wine at retail is overpriced, which makes us want to pull for any wine that sells for $12-$13. This wine is simple, if not ordinary, for a Mendoza red, but it’s not a malbec, which could explain its lack of character. It is soft, round, red, and drinkable but could be from anywhere. Maybe an injection of malbec would help this wine reach its goal of being inexpensive and tasty. Hamburgers, or a beef taco are the match.Tasted: 18 December 2022Tasted by: Prices:

ArgentinaThis simple Mendoza syrah shows muddled dark fruits and a vague spice note. There's not a lot of varietal character but if you're after an approachable red at a decent price, this will do the trick. Chill it down and enjoy with burgers.Tasted: 06 May 2021Tasted by: Prices:
