Carpineto Chianti Classico 2018

Tuscany, ItalyCarpineto was founded in 1967 in the little enclave of Dudda, just outside of Greve in Chianti by Giancarlo Sacchet and Antonio Mario Zaccheo This blend of sangiovese with canaiolo was aged in a mix of stainless tanks and Slavonian oak barrels for 4-6 months, then bottled aged an additional 4-6 months. Tart cherry, red currant, brown spice take a slight, clipped palate, finishing with a tart cranberry twist and dusting of warming baking spices. Tannins are light but ragged, making this crave tomato / meat sauced pastas.Tasted: 19 May 2021Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
