Canyonview Wines Pinot Noir 2017
Summerland Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaSoft and ripe 2017 presents a similar meaty, earthy, forest floor style as I saw in other Giant Head wines. More barnyard than clean fruit, it harkens back to the '70s in Burgundy. It spends 18 months in French oak barrels and thankfully delivers at only 13.5 percent alcohol. The flavours are intense, and spice with strawberry dominating before the pepper and meaty notes return. Lots of promise here; let’s hope for cleaner versions in the future.Tasted: 18 May 2021Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:BC | $47.99 | 750ml | winery online/direct, select private retailers |
