Marlborough, South Island, New ZealandThis single vineyard Marlborough Riesling was inspired by the Mosel, and wines that work the interplay between acidity and sugar. From the Blind River subregion, in southern Awatere and its schistous, gravelly soils, this was night harvested, quickly destemmed, crushed, and pressed into stainless steel tank to settle and then ferment at cool temperatures. Juicy and vibrant with pulpy lime, lemon sherbet, ripe pear, woven with a cool river stone note. The ample RS works well against the acidity, and the 9% alcohol, to make this an easy sipper in the summer heat.
